Celebrating our 70th year of Service to Retired School Personnel
ARTICLE III (ARTA Bylaws)
SECTION 1. Members of this association shall be of three (3) classes: Active, Honorary, and Life.
A. Active Member. Any retired employee of a school, college or university, public or private, may become an Active member upon payment of dues.
B. Honorary Member. Honorary membership may be extended to distinguished friends of education by a vote of the membership.
C. Life Member. A member who has contributed service to the association may be extended life membership by a vote of the members. Past Presidents are automatically Life members.

We are returning to in person meetings with a Zoom hybrid option. Zoom details are sent to members via email the week before the meeting.

January 13, 2023 - Stephanie Lane, Executive Director, Drive a Senior: "Drive a Senior, An Essential Free Service for Seniors since 1985"
December 9, 2022 - "Holiday Program" followed by speaker Larry Yawn, former TRTA Legislative Chair: "Elections and Other Priorities for 2023"
November 11, 2022 - Buck Cole, ARTA Member, will speak: "Service In and Out of Uniform"
October 21, 2022 - Tim Lee, TRTA Executive Director, will speak on "Preparing for the 88th Legislative Session."
September 9, 2022 - Lori LaBrie, TRS Ombuds, will speak on TRS and the Ombuds program. (The video was not good due to technical difficulties. Speakers' notes and meeting packet will be posted on News page.
Friday, May 13, 2022 - Special Meeting at Pioneer Farms. Mike Ward, Chairman and CEO of Pioneer Farms will speak on "Pioneer Farms: Celebrating Texas History and Culture" followed by a performance by the Austin Clickety Cloggers.
Friday, April 8, 2022 - Michael Mauk, professor, Department of Neuroscience, UT Austin, will speak on "The Science of Learning: Implications for How We Should Teach"
Friday, March 11, 2022 - Birthday Luncheon at Chex Zee - Speaker: Sharon Watkins, owner of Chez Zee, talking about her journey as a professional.
