Aransas County Retired Teachers Association (ACRTA) is a local retired educators association affiliated with the Texas Retired Teachers Association, which advocates improved benefits for all educational retirees and promotes the well-being of its members.

Our 2020-2021 membership drive, which runs from July 1-June 30,is still in full swing! State Dues are $35 and Local Dues are $15 ( with $5 for Scholarship fund).  All TRS Annuitants are welcome and encouraged to join us as TRTA is the Voice for All Education Retirees.  Call Sofie Perkins at 361-729-7310 if you are interested in joining.


ACRTA WILL NOT be having in-person meetings through December 2020 due the following directive from the TRTA Board of Directors issued on July 14, 2020.

The Texas Retired Teachers Association’s (TRTA) Board of Directors voted unanimously on Tuesday, July 14 to impose a hold on all TRTA-affiliated in-person meetings across the state through the end of 2020. This includes all district fall conferences and local unit meetings. 


When and if meetings resume in January 2021 the schedule will be posted on this website, and it will be sent via e-mail or mailed to all ACRTA members.


ACRTA community activities, to include the Book Project for the ACISD Mentoring Program in early spring, Marines Toys for Tots at Christmas time and ACRTA volunteer opportunities, when deemed safe, will continue.


ACRTA will also recognize the 2020 ACISD retiring teachers and will grant two scholarships to ACISD seniors the end of the school year.
