Welcome!

Chatting With The  President

Patsy Helmcamp

Updated: Process of updating for May

It was a pleasure to witness our scholarship recipient and our grant winners receive their recognition and money at our last meeting of the year.  Edith Anderson and her committee spent many hours deciding who they would be.  The members who continue to recruit our yearbook advertisers keep this program alive year after year.  Thanks to all of you!

Your officers for 2017-2018 were installed by our TRTA District President, Janie Bramlett.  She challenged us and our committee chairs to do the best we can to have another successful year.

Watch for Tim Lee’s Inside Line next week since the legislature is getting closer to their deadline to pass the state’s budget.  Please remember to contact our legislators thanking them for their support and/or asking for their help with our health care.   The Texas House has already passed a bill to the Senate that was supported by DeWayne Burns.  We hope Senator Brian Birdwell will support a bill to solve the health care crisis, also.

I hope you have a wonderful summer.  When you see another retired educator encourage them to join TRTA and JSCRSEA.  The larger our association grows the more influential we become.
