Grayson County Retired School Personnel Association (GCRSPA) is the local unit of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, the voice for public education retirees. Working to improve and protect the benefits of over 300,000 retirees, we offer opportunities for fellowship, volunteering, supporting projects that further the cause of education, learning about retirement issues and associating with colleagues. October 10, 2017 - Legislative Update   Presented by The Honorable Larry Phillips,

Texas House of Representatives

During the business meeting there will be a drawing for cash prizes of $25 and $50 for new members to the local unit and TRTA.  Door prizes will also be awarded.

TRTA is the only organization that works exclusively for retired Texas public school employees, and has been doing so for over 60 years. 

A Note from President Renee' Grooms:

The next meeting of GCRSPA will be held on Tuesday, October 10 at a different venue which is more handicapped accessible.  Please note the meeting will be held in the Community Room at Texas Star Bank, 500 N. Sam Rayburn Freeway, Sherman.  We will begin the meeting at 11:30 and the program at 12 Noon.  Plan to bring your own lunch—brown bag it or take out, if you choose. Bottled water will be provided for everyone.  The program will be The Honorable Larry Phillips, Texas House of Representatives, who will share a legislative update. 

Also on that date Texas Retirement System will have informational sessions regarding 2018 Health Care Benefits at the Hilton Garden Inn at Texoma Event Center.  The morning session is from 9:00 - 10:30 and the afternoon session is from 1:30 - 3:00These times do not interfere with our meeting time from 11:30 – 1:00

There will be another drawing at the October 10 meeting of $25 cash for a new GCRSPA member and $50 cash for a new TRTA.

TRTA is Your only voice it the Texas Capitol on issues like TRS-Care!
