Austin Retired Teachers Association Scholarship for Future Educators

The Austin Retired Teachers Association Scholarship for Future Educators was established in 1975 and has progressively increased to $1000, the current award amount. In 2008, the ARTA Foundation was organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization which replaced the original ARTA Scholarship Committee. In order to fund these scholarships, ARTA Foundation collects donations from individuals and associations. You can help fund scholarships for 2022 by using the form and donation buttons on the ARTA Foundation Donations tab under ARTA Foundation.

Each year the ARTA Foundation awards a scholarship to a qualified graduating senior from each high school in the Austin Independent School District, a total of fourteen scholarships. The ARTA Foundation proudly announces our 11 scholars for 2020. It took patience and deadline extensions to get nominations from 11 of our 14 Austin ISD schools. Counselors were out of their offices and information for making a scholar nomination was not readily available. Your Foundation hopes the other three schools will submit scholar applications, so stay tuned!
